Report from Games Development 25th April 2016
2 Functional Movement Course provided during the month – poor turn out from the clubs
Young Whistlers course – 3 participants.
Goalkeeping workshop Part 1 was run in Cappincur 30 young goalkeepers and 9 coaches attended.
Award 1 in Kilcormac completed and well attended.
Foundation in Tullamore completed and well attended.
Revised Go Games Program for 2016 was issued to the clubs – revisions due to Edenderry entering U12 hurling and Ballyskneagh/Killavilla entering u10/U12 football.
Bring the kick back into football workshop was cancelled due to pitch availability and will be re scheduled
Development squads 1st blitz will take place on 30th April – U14’s in Abbotstown, U15’s in Coolderry(Offaly hosting), U16 in Portlaoise Laois.
U17 Hurlers play 1st round of the Celtic Challenge against Westmeath on Wed 4th May 7.30 throw in at Cusack Park Mullingar.
Cul Camp visits to schools to promote the camps will commence in early May. Offaly are offering an enhanced Cul Camp experience with the camps being divided into Junior Cul Camp and Senior Cul Camp in order to attract back the older children. Senior Cul Camp will be for 10 to 13 age group and the emphasis will be on skills and skill development with competitions and matches. Cul Camp gear will be delivered to all who apply and pay by the 4th June. Walk in on the day of a camp will get gear when it becomes available – no guarantee of gear at the start of the camp.
Primary teacher workshops completed.
Code of Ethics in Kilcormac 17th May
Workshops for U10 and U12 coaches will be rolled out in the next few weeks. Workshops are aimed at supporting the coaches at this level in order to develop the skills of the players – more details to follow
