Celtic Challenge Update
Offaly 2-18 Antrim 0-11
Offaly continued their good form with a well deserved win over Antrim in Abbottstown last Saturday. This was a good day for hurling on an excellent pitch and Offaly started well against a stiff breeze but let Antrim take control in the later stages of the first half to take a half time lead of 0-10 to 0-08. Whatever was said in the Offaly dressing room at half time seemed to work wonders as they blitzed Antrim with 1-02 in the first 3 minutes of the second half. Offaly continued to dominate the second half with all members of the panel making a contribution. The management team of Eunan Martin, Eamonn Hoctor and Liam Bergin have all the players playing for their places and the attitude of the players is really excellent.
Offaly now qualify to play North Galway in the semi final of Corn Michael Hogan which is the ‘A’ competition and this match will be played in Birr on Saturday 11th June at 4pm. Entry to the match is free and all support would be welcome.
