Bridge House To Be Packed For Awards Night
Walsh Island’s Murt Connor and St Rynagh’s Aidan Fogarty will enter the Offaly GAA Hall of Fame at this year’s Awards Night Sponsored by the Bridge House Hotel on this Saturday night, January 11th.
Joining a long list of illustrious players who have played for the Faithful County, both men have served the County both on and off the playing field of play and were part of the wonderful days for Offaly.
Murt lined out for Offaly from 1969 to 1976, winning two All Ireland Titles in 1971 and 1972 and 3 Leinster Titles in that period. Murt was also a key figure in the famous Walsh Island side who won six Senior Offaly Football Titles and 2 Leinster Club Titles.
Aidan Fogarty started his career with Offaly in mid-1970’s when he lined out for Offaly Minors. making is debut in 1976 with the Senior side, he went onto win 2 All Ireland Titles, 7 Leinster crowns and 2 All Stars. While playing for his club St Rynagh’s, he collected 8 Offaly Senior Hurling Titles and 2 Leinster Club Titles.
