Crucial Game For Offaly Hurlers On Sunday
Offaly hurlers will play their final group game in Division 2A of the Allianz League versus Antrim in Bord na Mona O’Connor Park this Sunday, 8th March, at 2pm.
Michael Fennelly has announced the starting 15, as follows: James Dempsey; Ciaran Burke, David O’Toole Greene, Michael Cleary; Brian Watkins, Dan Doughan, Brendan Murphy; Leon Fox, David King; Colm Gath, Jason Sampson, Peter Geraghty; David Nally, Sean Cleary, Eoghan Cahill.
Ben Conneely and Oisin Kelly are among the players recovering from injury at present.
The Faithful County require a victory if they are to reach the final the following weekend, most likely against Antrim again.
Currently, Antrim and Kerry are tied at the top of the table on eight points each, though Kerry have all their games played. Offaly have six points and with another win, eight points will put them through to the final on the basis of having a superior scoring difference to Kerry.
Remember this fixture was postponed a few weeks ago due to the adverse weather conditions at the time.
