Tullamore Retain The Dowling Cup
Tullamore retained the Tullamore Court Hotel Offaly Senior Football Championship title with a 0-15 to 0-14 victory over Ferbane in an engrossing final at Glenisk O’Connor Park.
Ferbane led 0-9 to 0-5 having played with the wind in the first half, but Tullamore drew level by the 40th minute and that set the scene for a tense and exciting 20 minutes, with ‘The Blues’ just edging home for their third title in five years. John Furlong was named as Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, Clonbullogue made up for recent disappointments by winning the Senior B final. Ballinagar edged out local rivals Raheen in the Intermediate final and Edenderry beat Shannonbridge by one point in the Junior A final.
