New Officers Elected To Lead Offaly GAA
New officers were elected to lead Offaly GAA for 2025 at the Annual Convention in Glenisk O’Connor Park on Tuesday evening, 10th December, though none of them were obliged to contest a vote.
After five years at the helm, Michael Duignan (Chairperson) and Dervill Dolan (Treasurer) had to step down under GAA rules, while Colm Cummins (Secretary) also vacated his position after four years. He also spent one year as Planning and Training Officer. Michael Duignan will remain on the Management Committee as Central Council delegate.
Elaine Kelly-Dunne (Children’s Officer) and Michelle Hogan (Cultural Officer) also had to step down under the ‘five year rule’, though Michelle is now the Children’s Officer.
The new Chairperson is Tom Parlon of Coolderry, a well known Offaly man who has a wealth of experience in GAA, as well as the IFA and Construction sectors. Vice-Chairperson is Denis Hoctor (Carrig and Riverstown), Secretary is Brendan Minnock (Shamrocks) while Frank Fitzpatrick (Doon) has taken over as Treasurer.
