Favourite Player: Carrie Dolan. I wrote to her this year and she replied to me with a lovely letter and a signed sliotar
Favourite meal: Garlic Potatoes with Breaded Chicken and Pasta.
GAA Ambitions: To play for Offaly Camogie in Croke Park.
Few words about my club and what I like or dislike: My club is a famous club called St. Rynaghs. We have good pitches and an AstroTurf and it’s near my house. We do lots of camps, and I meet my friends there a lot.

Few words about Offaly development squads: It’s a great opportunity to be able to go every week and train with the best players in the county and get the best coaching possible. I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time with the development squads.

Get to Know our volunteers
Ken Molloy
This week features Ken Molloy, who in recent years has volunteered a huge amount of his time assisting Offaly GAA and our players, particularly with the design of our jerseys, kits and leisurewear.
As you can see from the collection on our website, our range has grown significantly in a relatively short period, with more items available for supporters to purchase while keeping up to date with the latest trends.
Ken has also played an important role at many of our events through videography, as well as assisting with both our senior and underage programmes. More recently, Ken has followed in Mark Fordeโs footsteps, working at Croke Park and helping with social media coverage on some of the biggest occasions.
Our Offaly jerseys are iconic, and our training jerseys and leisurewear have also proven to be a huge hit with both our players and the public. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make this happen.
Thank you very much, Ken, for your time, creativity and continued support of Offaly GAA. It is greatly appreciated.
Games Programme
The Games Programme is now entering the knockout stages across all underage championships and competitions. We have reached the business end of the season, with quarter-finals taking place across all competitions.
The Johnny Flaherty Cup Final takes place on 11 September in Kinnitty, Johnnyโs home club, while the Ollie Daly Cup Final takes place on 5 September in Ballycumber, Ollieโs home club. See our social media channels for full details.
Our Shane Lowry Finals at U12 and U13 level in hurling and football are now complete, with 33 great finals held across the county. A huge thanks to all the host clubs, referees and everyone involved in making these finals such a success.
The Jack Wyer and Jersey Conway tournaments now begin for all U12 boys. Our U8 and U10 Go Games, along with the U11 Go Games leagues, are also continuing.
Our Underage Mid-Season Games Programme Review took place on Tuesday, 17 August, with representatives from all underage setups attending. No significant changes were identified as necessary, which gives us confidence to continue with the overall programme again next year.
There will be a slight change to the Go Games structure, with U8, U9 and U11 games running every Saturday morning, and teams entering based on their playing numbers.
Thanks to everyone involved in delivering such a busy programme of underage games across the county.
Underage Spotlight โ Ballinamere/Durrow
This week features Ballinamere Durrow, which happens to be my own club, but it would be unfair not to recognise the fantastic work being done by our committees, coaches and volunteers to keep our underage structures in such a strong position.
Ballinamere/Durrow underage currently fields teams at U8, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16 and Minor in both hurling and football. Our underage camogie section has also gone from strength to strength, with teams at U8, U10, U12 (two teams), U14 (two teams) and U16. This year also marks another important milestone, as the club fields a Junior/Intermediate camogie team for the first time.
Girls’ underage football in Ballinamere Durrow operates under its own committee with teams being fielded across all age groups. They currently are the 2025 Senior Ladies Champions
A huge thank you must go to all our coaches who commit to dual sessions every week from February right through to October. It takes an enormous amount of time and dedication to provide these opportunities for our young players, and that work is greatly appreciated.
It is also a very proud time for the club as we prepare for the 11th Jack Wyer Tournament this weekend. Best of luck to everyone involved in what is always a fantastic occasion for the club.
Finally, a special word of thanks to our Nursery coaches, who keep the conveyor belt rolling and introduce the next generation to our games. We are already looking forward to seeing our youngest players enjoy their day in the Faithful Fields at the end of September.
There is a huge amount of work happening behind the scenes in Ballinamere/Durrow, and the strength of our underage section is a credit to the coaches, committees, parents and volunteers who give their time week after week. Thank you to everyone who continues to play their part.
