Reigning champions Tullamore and Ferbane are preparing to contest the Tullamore Court Hotel Offaly Senior Football Championship final for the third year in a row. The big game throws-in at Glenisk O’Connor Park this Sunday, 26th October, at 3.00pm. It will be preceded by the replay of the Tullamore Court Hotel Junior ‘B’ Football Championship final between Tullamore at Shamrocks at 1.00pm.

Last year, after a thrilling game, Tullamore retained the Dowling Cup on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-14. The previous year, in terrible weather conditions, they edged out Ferbane by 1-05 to 0-06.
This year, Tullamore convicingly won each of their three group games and then got the better of Rhode in the semi-final.
Rhode, in the five team group, finished the league stages with three wins, one draw and one defeat. They had a narrow victory over Shamrocks in the quarter-final, but stormed to a big defeat of Edenderry in the penultimate round.
No doubt Sunday’s game will again be eagerly contested by two teams that are moving well and feature some of the top players in the county at present.
