More Offaly Clubs Sign Up For ‘Healthy Club’ Project
Seven Offaly Club have been accepted into Phase 5 of the GAA’s Healthy Club Project.
They are: Ballycommon, Ballinamere, Gracefield, Kilclonfert, Kilcormac/ Killoughey, Raheen and Shamrocks.
Some Clubs from Offaly signed up for the Healthy Club initiative in previous phases and found it to be very beneficial. The County Board Health & Wellbeing Committee is available to assist them going forward.
Phase 5 will commence on Feb 5th, 2022, with a National Orientation Day in Croke Park (if Covid-19 guidelines allow). Clubs are given 18 months to complete the necessary steps involved in becoming an accredited ‘Healthy Club’ and to document their progress via the Healthy Clubs Portal by August 5, 2023.

- Healthy Eating
- Physical activity for non-playing members
- Mental fitness and emotional wellbeing
- Gambling, drug, smoking and alcohol education
- Community development – engaging older members; inclusion and integration.
