Football Semi-Finals Take Centre Stage
Supporters have semi-final action to look forward to in the Tullamore Court Hotel Offaly Club Football Championships this weekend, with several crunch games taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
Top of the bill is the Senior Football semi-finals, which form a double-header in Glenisk O’Connor Park on Sunday afternoon. First up is Ferbane v Shamrocks at 2.15pm, followed by Tullamore v Edenderry at 3.45pm. There will be extra-time and penalties, if required.
Tullamore are, of course, the reigning champions and go into their game with a 100% record this season, although Edenderry pushed them hard in last year’s semi-final. Ferbane, narrowly beaten in last year’s final will take nothing for granted against Shamrocks, who beat them in the first round this year.
In the Senior ‘B’ grade, there is also an attractive double-header in Tullamore on Saturday. First up is Clara v Cappincur at 3.15pm, followed by Clonbullogue v Daingean at 4.45pm.
Also, on Saturday, the Intermediate Football semi-finals are Raheen v Tullamore in Clara at 1.30pm, and St Brigid’s v Ballinagar in Rhode at 6.30pm.
The Junior ‘A’ Semi-Finals are also on Saturday: Edenderry v Clodiagh Gaels in Daingean at 2.00pm; Shannonbridge v Rhode in Tubber at 2.00pm.
